What are you cats using on your master channel when doing live PA type gigs? I don't mean dj'n program material which for the most part is already pumped up enough. I'm talking synth plugs and clip based sets. I've been using PSP Vintage Warmer 2 which is really good as a brickwall limiter and general compression, as well as the Sonalksis multi but I'm curious as to what others use to get their stuff sounding fat and "mastered" through a PA. NOT studio mastering, but dynamics for playing through a PA. So what do you prefer, and what are your settings?
cheers
Dynamics on master output channel for live performance
Re: Dynamics on master output channel for live performance
I think the consensus on the board is to leave the master alone.
Slight limiter if anything to catch extreme peaks. But nothing is probably better to have a more dynamic set.
If you have a good eq, such as LSS DJ EQ, on each channel and enough knobs, that should help keep everything in its place.

Re: Dynamics on master output channel for live performance
as noted above, I think just a limiter to cap any out of control feedback loops or resonance during the set. otherwise your clips/channels should already be mastered to what they should be
