I'm curious, and I will check this out later, if "save as self-contained" will improve reading of audio files while there's a new folder with all the used audio files created then.
I'm asking this because I'm having this strange thing with random drop out of sound with some audio files. I'm testing still and cannot say what exactly happens and when it happens. I had some strange audio file which, every time I put it in Live, it caused sound drop outs. I hope I can work it out. In 2 weeks I 'm using Live for the first time on a live occasion with a band....
Untill today it just worked fine, maybe it's just one of those strange software anomilies......
