Live 8 is experiencing extreme (Can you say "unplayable?" latency as well as pops and clicks on ALL 3rd party Vsti plugins.
I've moved the plug in folder, rescanned, changed the path in Live 8, same problem. I've upgraded the asio driver as well. I'm running an Open labs Neko TSE (Intel III Xeon 2.82 core 2 processor(upgraded), 4 gigs ram). The audio interface is a Presonus Firebox and the settings are at 2ms latency which yields a buffer size of 176 samples in Ableton.
Live 7.0.10 runs GREAT with these settings. So does Reaper, Reason 4, Cubase, and Forte (a vsti host program). Live 8 experiences massive latency problems as well as pops and clicks on the audio. The only time I do NOT get pops and clicks is by setting the Presonus to 12ms latency, yielding a buffer size of 528 samples in Ableton...But at that point, the vsti's become unplayable due to the extreme latency which occurs.
I've tried loading previous Live 7 sets as well as starting Live 8 sets from scratch..Same issue with Live 8.
So...on the SAME machine...Live 7.0.10..Reaper...Reason 4...Cubase...Forte...All work well with the Presonus drivers, both the shipped V1.2 as well as the upgraded V. 2.46, which I just installed for the sake of troubleshooting Live 8.
What's worth mentioning is that Live 8's bundled instruments (Operator etc.) all play back fine, no harsh latency, no audio pops and clicks, nothing....Only the 3rd party vsti's give this problem (and yes, they are paid for registered versions, not cracks...
And did I mention that Live 7.0.10 works FINE...even now after installing Live 8??
Anyone....Any ideas? Any similar issues with latency and /or pops and clicks in Live 8?
