cool thing about him is he doesn't give you the feeling of watching a keyboard player play by himself,
if feels more like you're watching a turntablist

notice that the use of a laptop does not even impede his performance,
in all the performances i've seen of his it's like the people don't even notice the computer

It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

shiiiit. good links. he's got that squarepusher thing going: excellent musicianship meshed with a weird songwriting sensibility. thanks for this...off to spend some money at boomkat.

I usualy don't like it when people try to copy other people but I wish all electronic musicians would try to copy this guy (they wouldn't be able to) and they would undoubtedly come out with something original, his musical ethics just hit the right spot, his live shows should be studied in electronic musicians class 101, check out any of his Live show clips and look at the dudes performing right after him..ouch!! it looks like it hurts and they all look like they are doing word processing.

he's a virtuoso . old school, jazz virtuoso . he's not "electronic musician" but rather using electronic means to deliver his skills . i dont think he would be able to produce something underwhelming from any keyboard you'd give him. we are so used to the punk standard of making electronic music that when we see somebody who's actually able to play an instrument, our collective jaw drops.

yeah but his programming skills kick much ass as well hence me calling him an electronic musician, i agree with you though, I just feel sorry for anybody going on after him, people will start throwing fruit
