Hi,
I'm just curious how the warping works in Live 8. Prior versions it was easy to warp mp3 and wav but find it very hard to set an exact start point. Any hints?
Problem warping with Live 8
Re: Problem warping with Live 8
I've been setting a warp marker at the transient that marks the first beat then right clicking and selecting 'set 1:1 here'.
Hope that's helpful.
If you're having trouble making it precise, just zoom in and alt or opt+drag the warp marker.

1 - Identify the first beat of the track.
2 - "Set 1.1.1 here" from the context menu.
3 - Delete the first warp marker that was the former 1.1.1, if needed.
4 - Then, either "warp from here" on the new 1.1.1., from the context menu. Works great in most cases in my experience.
If you want to do things manually, from step 3:
1 - Identify the first beat of bar 2 in the waveform, move it to bar 2, by dragging the pseudo warp marker there. If you know the track is going to have tempo fluctuations, create a real warp marker by double clicking the pseudo warp marker. Otherwise, as for most electronic music tracks, leave it as it is.
2 - Repeat at bar 17, for example, then bar 64, etc..
this from one of the abes, when beta testing, seems to work for me.
