arm track not exclusive when midi mapped???

Post by Majnun » Wed Apr 08, 2009 6:50 am

Oh come on... you mean my arm track exclusive setting is ignored when I map an arm button with midi mapping?

What the heck?

Someone please tell me I don't have to midi-yoke/bomes translate this?

Hi, yeah, that's the way it is unfortunately. Same in Live 8 too. I've no idea why that is, I can't see any possible advantage as the preferences should define behaviour for all record button usage, both from mouse and from midi controller. Bug?

This has been a bug and serious impediment for a long, long time. 5 years, actually. :-( Can we fix this Abes??

In my experience, when MIDI-mapped the Arm buttons will recognize the "Exclusive" setting in prefs for a while, and then after a random period of time start allowing multiple tracks to be armed.

Most weird.

In my experience the only way around this flaw is to use Key Commands instead of Midi assignments. Once I use a midi-to-qwerty workaround, I have yet to experience this bug.

Peter, is the Release Velocity variable on the MPD?
Been trying to reproduce this too, but to no avail.
Only a hanging note seems to mess things up, but that would be noticeable.
