O/T Billy Bob Thornton Being a Prick (Band Interview)
Billy Bob Thornton interviewed on CBC's Q... He acted like a total prick but the interviewer Gian Ghomeshi handled the interview well... I would not want to be in abnd with BBT what so ever...

My understanding was that there is more to the story. BBT asked that none of his other "accomplishments" be mentioned, before the interview. He wanted it to solely focus on the "music" (which was and always will be his primary passion), and the interviewer did not respect that, which caused him go Joaquin Phoenix ( I can see that I am getting old, in my day we would have said ("rain-man"). But who knows the real deal. Fortunately with you-tube there is what we see....... I guess once you let angelina slip through your fingers, your never really right afterwards.

I agree but the interviewer introduced as an Academy award winner and that was it... BBT acted like a baby and must have an inferiority complex about being an actor/musician and the reviews that he must receive being so...aisling wrote:My understanding was that there is more to the story. I for one and am not big on actors that think they can be rock stars and rock stars that think they can be actors, when there a lot of far superior bands out there that have to slug it out to survive... Using your stardom to cross the line into acting or being a musician is bullshit but hey that's how it works...
If you want to both then be a Broadway actor in Oaklahoma...

I agree 100% with your thoughts.......I know I for one have been slugging out in the "trenches" for 20 years now.....cosmosuave wrote:

BBT does have some "issues", I hear he is an alcoholic....which stunts your emotional evolution (no disrespect to anybody who enjoys getting a buz on)

I really feel sorry for his band mates, they seem so nervous and sad about his douchery.

Any publicity is good publicity.
Ableton’s engineers are hard
at work developing code that will allow our software to predict the future, but we don’t
anticipate having this available until at least the next major release.

I should clarify that I have enjoyed many of buzzes.......Although I like the leafy kind as a fist choice, then the distilled kind.....cosmosuave wrote:No offence taken...aisling wrote:(no disrespect to anybody who enjoys getting a buz on)

being weird for weird sakes, what a child. The radio host does a great job and makes the twat look like a total MONK!

That is the end result, morning show radio here was talking about it.Moody wrote:Any publicity is good publicity.
The consensus was that the most offensive part was how he placed himself in the same league as Tom Petty.

Ego ego ego.
First off if I'm a famous actor that starts a band that tours with Willie Nelson I'm going to flat out be honest that I feel me and my bandmates all have a lot to live up to considering the breaks we've had etc. I don't knock people for using the credentials and connections they have to make a name for themselves in another art etc. but don't try to downplay that your celebrity status helped place you in the front of the pack, it's bullshit.

isn't that what you're known for doing here?Emissary wrote:being weird for weird sakes, what a child. The radio host does a great job and makes the twat look like a total MONK!
the whole 'Billy Bob Blows Up' ranting is retarded, people just love their drama, even if it's invented.
he didn't blow up. the interviewer is a f-ing tool, BBT told them that the interview is about his band and his band only. I would've ripped that guy a new asshole, BBT was pretty cool about it. even then, at the end of the interview the interviewer made a sarcastic remark that BBT wasn't going to play that morning, IT'S ABOUT THE BAND FFS!!! by the end of the interview he still didn't get it. fire the guy.
it would suck if you put the work in to find some good musicians you can play with, record albums, gig, tour, do the work for years and people only recognize your band because of something completely unrelated that you did.

For the 356th time I have to agree with Tone Deft here, without having seen the video.
Here I am middle management in a large corporation and there's still people who only remember me as the kid that delivered their Sunday paper. Let it go.
