program changes in audio tracks?

Post by p8guitar » Mon Apr 13, 2009 3:04 pm

Is it possible to send program changes from a midi clip to an effect in an audio clip? I can't get this working (kore fx plug-in in the audio track).

Midi to Midi:
If you can assign a midi cc to the knob that alters the effect in kore, you should also be able to send a program change CC.
However; there are exceptions to the rule.
Program changes are not the same CC types as Standard Midi CC 1-127

Best way to find out is to look at Kore fx internal midi mapping and Live's clip midi assignments and ascertain if midi clips in live can send program change messages to anything in the Kore fx plugin. If it can, you're halfway there.

There are also alternatives for the desperate. Running midiyoke to convert midi cc to keyboard shortcuts which could control a value range for the effect in Kore could work as well if Kore can accept keyboard shortcuts.

For the really desperate, running midi cc through midiyoke, converting to keyboard shortcut, then back to a different midi CC that Kore can understand. This isn't technically a program change but could produce the same result. This is a complex setup however.
