Gated effect on live input

Post by phontaine » Mon Aug 02, 2004 9:09 pm

Can anyone tell me how to get that gated vocal effect(you know the choppy sound, 16th or 32notes) on a live input?

I'm using live 3, but have 4, my laptop is slower so i dont want to run
4 if i dont have to.

check the post on Using Clip Properties on Live Input. Works for Live4, should work for Live3 as well.

Live 4 is more CPU friendly than Live 3 :-)

Tip:
Use Live 4. Program midi clips with the gate (16th or whatever). Route that midi track to an output that can be fetched as the input for an audio track. Automate either a mute plug-in or the track on/off button with the "gate midi". Route your live input through that audio track for the effect.
