Can you make a clip only 1/2 a beat long?

Post by EClayton » Mon Apr 20, 2009 2:00 pm

I need to split clips into small pieces. 1/2 a beat or smaller. they will be used in computer application that will trigger small bits of sound.

However, i am not able to make a clip any smaller than one beat in Live 8.

does anyone know how to make a tiny clip that is 1/2 a beat long, and can be rendered and converted to mp3?

thanks!

hi,

simply set the clip length to i.e. 0.2.0.
use the 1/4 notes or 1/16 notes box to go below a full bar (1.0.0).

best,

i think he means half a beat, as in half a 16th beat (1/32).

you can't create a looped clip less than 1/16 in length in session view, but you can create clips as tiny as the resolution will go in arrange view (by using the 'split' edit command at resolutions up to 1/16384) and dragging them into session view. they'll still only loop at 1/16 though.
