Live 8 is already registered and authorised on my PC and has been working fine. Today my internet connection was unplugged, I opened Live 8 and I was told to re-authorize and I was given a new hardware code.
I closed Live and plugged the internet cable back in and then opened Live again, this time everything was fine and I wasn't asked to authorize.
Is this right? Should an internet connection affect Live's authorization? I thought that the hardware code would only change if a major component such as a motherboard or soundcard was changed...?

Re: Live 8 asks to re-authorize
You are correct and apologies are in order. The problem is being corrected. Please see this thread (the last 3-5 posts in it) for a temporary fix. Ableton will assuredly supply you with any additional unlocks you may need.digimixa wrote:Live 8 is already registered and authorised on my PC and has been working fine. Re: Live 8 asks to re-authorize
Thanks for the link. It's good to know Ableton will fix the problem in the next update.
Re: Live 8 asks to re-authorize
The way I've got around it is to first open Ableton Live 8,then turn off your internet connection, and firewalls etc.

Re: Live 8 asks to re-authorize
That's precisely correct. Takes about 2 seconds and does the trick every time. Ableton is EXTREMELY kind with respect to Latency anyhow. I can leave my wireless adapter enabled and never have a click or pop via Live even when the DPC checker shows red line spikes. Ableton's dedicated music first technology is amazing in and of itself. Just one more thing that makes Ableton an excellent choice for a general multi track DAW. It's fantastically music efficient under pressure.PEAVLEY wrote:The way I've got around it is to first open Ableton Live 8,then turn off your internet connection, and firewalls etc.
Re: Live 8 asks to re-authorize
I'm also having this problem and have just sent a request to the Abletons to reset my install count after receiving the "limit reached" warning mail (!). Rather ridiculous, this should be patched immediately. Any idea if the current beta has the same issue?
