Assigning transport commands to a footswitch

Post by paulfinnie » Tue Apr 28, 2009 7:01 pm

Hi

I use Ableton with a Line6 Toneport interface to the desk. I am trying to assign start / stop and re-start (at the place in the scene I stopped)onto my footswitches.

I have two available footswitches out of the Toneport but so far can only manage to get a start, or a stop, or a start back at 1.1.1. This is linked to me using my song (backing) tracks in Ableton and the need for a bit of time/space between songs during a gig, rather than letting everysong just run straight after each other

Manually its easy. Hit the space bar to start and stop and shift+spacebar to restart at the previous point I stopped........but when standing and holding a guitar during a gig its not the most appropriate way to do things ...this is driving me crazy! I just need to transfer this functions to the footswitches. Every attempt at assigning Midi functions fails..

Any help or pointers would be mucho appreciated.

Cheers
P
