Hi,
If you open a vsti synth and play it using the computer keyboard, great. If you already have the keyboard assigned (eg. to trigger clips), not so great. Live tries to do both, but there's a long pause now before you hear a note from your synth.
Has anyone tried this out?
We need some way to toggle between these modes. Either a button, or maybe the synth should only be playable from the computer keyboard when its channel is selected (this would avoid any confusion if more than one vsti was loaded).
I know the obvious answer would be to get a / some MIDI keyboards, and dedicate one to each vsti via its own MIDI channel or port, but using the computer keyboard is so convenient and compact (no extra keyboards to lug about and setup), that sorting this solution out would be well worth while...
Anybody have any workarounds or ideas here?

Triggering vsti's from the computer keyboard needs a rethink
This is actually my favorite new feature of ver4, not having to haul a seperate keybaord with you wheny ou just want to knock somthign out real quick on the go is great (not to mention being able to route the keybaord to Reason instruments as well).
But yes, I did notice some problems with this too, and I don't have any QWERTY keys mapped to anything in Live yet. Sometimes there's defniitely a LONG delay similar to latency, after you press a key, and sometimes the wrong note gets triggered too.

When you hold down a knob of a VSTi while pressing a key, the note-message for the key will be generated if you let go the knob of the vsti. Maybe this causes the lag.
The assign-keys and use-the-computer-keyboard at the same time causes some trouble for me to. I suggest that in computerkeyboardmode the assigned keys will be disabled. Apart from that it works perfect, no wrong notes or whatsoever.
I love this function. Reminds me of my first steps in computer music with Soundtracker on the Amiga and Octamed on the PC ;)
