Hi Can anyone help please. I have recorded some piano onto a track. I now wish to record something over the top preserving both tracks. I need to hear the original track to play along to. Any clues please.
Thanks

Re: Recording tracks
Arm another (different) track and record your next part.

yes I do this but the original I want to play along to does not play, I can only get it to play on its own at the moment

Re: Recording tracks
You'll have to give more information for me to help. Are you in Session or Arrangement mode?
a screenshot would be the easiest way to help.
From the default settings there's no reason why the first track you recorded wouldn't play when you're recording the next track.
If you're in session mode: click the play button on the clip, make sure the clip is active (yellow button) and make sure the output is master
If you're in arrangement mode: make sure you're recording over the same space you recorded the first track, make sure the the clip is active (yellow button) and make sure the output is to master.

Re: Recording tracks
one option.
open a new channel and arm and record your new part on that channel while the other channel plays.
