Rollback to Live 7 - we can't play live with Version 8

I'm realy disappointed of the new Live 8 Version.
And also i'm realy disappointed that my first posting in this forum - need to have this title.

In my opinion Live 8 is still in alpha status.
Still the Beta Updates (2b) glitches my piano Window.
Can't arrange notes probably (this was fixed in Live 8.01 - now its broken again *grrrr*).
The Warp Tool for Audio Files - isn't as easy to use as the one from Live 7.
Takes me much longer to get full songs in sync - and this feature we need on stage!!!
Warp Tool doesn't sounds so improved like Ableton told in the Releasenotes.
Different Sync Problems that had never happend with live 7.
( Two Xone 4d - different other Midi synths and Grovebboxes and also the other macbook gets out of sync after 3-5 min).
Different Problems with the Librarys. ( Invalid Product ID - wtf?!?)
Live Crashes so often that i cant recapitulate what the reason had been for.
In my opinion many many features that were stable in Live 7 get broken in Live 8.

With the DJ Team we decided to make a rollback to Live 7 - because our gigs gettin closer and we NEED a working program that we can trust not to crash on stage!
With Live 8 we dont have any garanty :(
Now we have al lot of work to do to get the new Sets back to Version 7.
The new features in 8 are nice gimiks but not realy important for us.
Okay the limiter and Multiband compression would be nice to have in Version 7 now.
We would like to use the other features but please in a stable Version.

Still alle updates are beta - and get other bugs.
Please dear Ableton Team: hurry up.
I know thats a big Job you doin there and we like Live so much that we kicked off Logic, Cubase and Reason.
So know we are addicted to your products!!!
We need a stable working Version!!!

And also I aggree to the other users - I'm NOT your Beta Tester.
Live 8.0.1 is an official Release and i expect the oficial releases are stable.

Sorry Ableton-Team but this time we are realy realy disapointed.

Sorry for my poor english. < edited ;)

Greatz
Chris

Does it sometimes seem like someone from some other company is paying people to post this stuff here? The tone of these diatribes is a little...off.

Nope.
Not in the slightest.

For a start, do you think the guy is lying about the current stability of live8 ?
He's not. So why presume industrial espionage ? ....

Ableton release a new version roughly once a year. Think about it. How are they supposed to be stabilising live8 whilst simultaniously coding live9 ? There are some major conflict of interests within the Ableton business model.

I'm not from an other company !!!

I'm using Live since Version 6 - and I am so lucky to found a Program that fits up all my needs. I have sold all other licenses of other Programms because i where so lucky - but i'm no happy with the current Version.
Bougt 2 new Computer the biggest macpro you can get in the store and a new Macbook.
On my older macbook pro 1ghz 15" 512mb ram - Version 7 runs more comfy then live 8 on my new one with more then the double performance.
The only think i like to say - is:
please please please please hurry up with the bug fixes - nothing else - sending crash reports logs and everything else but please
HURRY !

Because of some time pressure we decided to switch back - because this Version 7 run stable like a rock in the shore (hmmm  dont know how to say correct in english ;) )

Live 8 will be used with next official patch (when it get its stability back)
for now i cant use it - so i'm disapointed by the early release date thats all

It's: "I am sorry for my poor English"

Bad English is a band.

FWIW, I have gigged out a few times with L8 without issue. If you have so many problems you find it unuseable why not simply continue to use L7. :?

I'm still learning ;) thanx!

yes that's what we do now - but its a lot of work to get the sets we made in live 8 back to live 7.
you cant open Live 8 files in live 7 for shure.
and this will take a lot of time again.
and know i need to post my frustration somwhere.

I would like to use L8 on stage

One could also wonder if those who try to impugn loyal customers who are having a rough time with the new version aren't being paid by Ableton to make them look dumb. That works both ways.

i have to agree i am dissapointed that this version of live is not ready for distribution as there are way too many issues that need attention - revording latency ect - they should have stalled and released with soooo many bug fixes to be ammended- come on ableton !
sort it out - :x

somthing i've forgotten to write:

i remember there where several problems by upgrading from L6 to L7 (because of major improvements like sidechain e.g.)
but this were fixed much faster then now from L7 to L8
.

live 8 is mucking me about, its filled with clicks and pops and seems to be really quite slow compared to 7. i like the features but they are not worth the current hassle at the moment. live is getting in the way of making music at this time

yeh live8 keeps crashing all over the shop for me, loading/previewing samples and it locks up, warping sometimes takes ages (where as the same operation in l7 is realtime) and crashes, cpu utilisation higher than l7...

...mind you i am runinng Windows 7 x64 RC so it may well not actually be Live8! :)

The only thing i can say that L8 made me so angry last weekend, that i nearly went up the walls. the performance is that bad.

That's it: amazing features but way to early released... The beta should have been 3-4 month longer.

works very well with me.

so go back to version 7, we don't care. no need for a thread FFS.

you waited for 8.01 to come out, you can wait for 8.02, 8.03 etc to be released.

drama queens.
