nanoKONTROL assignment

Post by evon » Tue May 12, 2009 7:00 pm

Can anyone tell me how to set the Kontrol Editor so that when I press a button on the nanoKONTROL the cc message is not sent untill I release the button. I dont want the " momentary" function. I want it to emulate, for example, click and hold the yellow channel-on button (or solo button) in Live, in that the message is not sent till I release the mouse button.

Hope I am clear. I am thinking it might have something to do with the number assigned between 1 to 127.

Evon, Did you ever figure this out I thought the nanokontrol was pretty useless without this feature. Any ideas? I only have ten fingers. Thanks.

I think I will have a look later and do some experiments with some numbers in the Kontrol Editor.
Thought maybe somebody here would have some ideas or experience with this.
If I have any luck I will post it here.

I inverted the "on" and "off" number parameters and it did not work.

If you have installed Bome's Midi translator, you can see from 'Capture midi' that there are values for both button down and button up. I haven't played with it but there appears to be the sort of feature in Bome's which will allow you to filter midi messages through it to just use the 'up'. Might take a bit of boring set-up.

Think I will wait till I can afford a better controller. For now the lack of that feature is not a hindrance for what I want to accomplish. It would have only increased my comfort level.
The nanoKONTROL works fine for now, I only use it for final mixing.
