Toggling between applications forces rescan of mp3 clips

I'm finding if I tab to any application and back, even just the Finder, all the mp3s in my set start reloading/analysing, including the ones playing.

Anyone else run into this?
MacBook Pro 2.2GHz, OSX 10.6.6
Presonus Firebox, APC40
Ableton Suite 9
