Lexicon I-onix FW

Post by ianomurchu » Wed Jun 03, 2009 10:47 am

I have just bought the above and am having problems!! The driver drops out for no apparent reason during the middle of a set! Does anybody use the Firewire I-onix with a firewire hub? I am running a powercore compact and the i-onix into a hub into my DELL XPS (which only has one fw port). Had a friend with simliar problems using a Focusrite Saphire and liquid mix into a hub. He said it was a data clash issue? Anybody out there up on such issues. When the i-onix works its really great, happy with the mixer and tracking reverb!! Help!! :?

I don't have the Onix, but I have been 'using' another Lexicon audio interface and have the same problem with the driver. You're right, when the things work they work well. But after about 20 minutes the driver locks and the audio drops out. You can reset the driver, that'll keep you going for another 20 minites. Or get ASIO4ALL - its a halfassy work around but stable at least. I know it sucks. Lexicon support is a joke. After badgering them and waiting for a response, finally all I got from them was "No new driver updates... Try using ASIO4ALL." WTF? The Onix looks good though.

Many thanks for the input!! Sorry you are having the same Lexicon issues that I am, seems to be a common issue over on the Lexicon forum too! The i-onix is great though - when it works, the dbx pre amps are really sweet sounding and the software mixing console is brilliant for routing signals around. Well made great, features - shit tech support!

Still confused about the firewire hub and whether the fact that I have a powercore compact on the same hub is partly causing the difficulty as well!
