Sample Offline

Post by aural roberts » Wed Aug 14, 2002 2:57 pm

I opened up a Live set - all clips appeared to load OK but I noticed that some were not sounding. When I looked at the Clip Window for these clips, in place of the waveform display was the message "Sample is currently off-line" (or something very similar).

With Live still running, I opened up another set - all clips there were fine. I then returned to the first set and found all clips were now functioning as normal.

Any ideas about what happened here ? I'm running Live 1.5.2 on Windows 98SE with a Pentium 4 1.7gHz and 256mb RAM.

"sample offline" means that live can´t locate the audifile on your harddisc.
Possibly you trashed or removed the file from it´s previous position.
If you still have it somewhere, use the "replace" function in the sample settings to load the file again.

Yes, I would expect it to mean that. But the files in this set hadn't been moved or deleted. And when I loaded another set and then went immediately back to the original set, the problem was cleared. This is what I find strange.

Hello Aural roberts

When you load the song are you asked to replace missing files?

Please send me the log file of Live (called "Log.txt" and located in "...preferences\ableton\Live 2.0.1\Preferences").

Mail it to [email protected]
