6 Operator Presets Live Should Have Shipped With

It's actually just one preset; this post explains how to create other sounds quickly using this preset.

Poorly documented, poorly organized and mostly useless.

It was my dissatisfaction with that Live pack that led to this tutorial.

Why not actually try reading up on how to use a synth, how to make these sounds, then you apply it to any synth you use for the rest of your life, rather than relying on presets.

I've got on fine with Operator by simply pissing around with it and using what I know about synths to get what I want. If you don't know what you are doing, you can't blame Ableton for it, Suite is pretty fucking expensive, it tells you what it comes with and any 'pro' should really know what they are buying and how they are going to use it before laying down any amount of money.

Are you also the guy who started a whole thread based on Live 8 being a waste of money?

You seem grumpy about a lot of things. How come?

You seemed to be saying that live didn't come with any operator drum presets, I was just pointing you in the right direction.

I think you should perhaps do a tutorial on how to behave like a total c*nt.

It's funny how sensitive these folks are to any kind of percieved criticism of Live. Keep doing your thing man, people appreciate it.

Aren't most of the Drum Machines kits from Operator? I think they are very good.

I'm not sure, but I think it's the way he phrases stuff that irks people. I'm starting to understand. Instead of saying "There are negative pressure differences between the atmosphere and your lungs." HE would say "YOU SUCK".

Because I don't see it as 6 presets Operator should have shipped with anymore. Bad wording on his part. Negative connotation right off the bat. It's really a short "how-to" make these sounds he likes.

Don't get me wrong guys! I'm not defending the little spoon fed fella. I'm just trying to understand what the heck his motive is.

Besides that, I went ahead and tried his presets, because I'm putting together my own operator drum rack anyway, and found it quite a yawner, unless you want something that sounds like the "drums" on a Baldwin Fun Machine.

Dude, I would love to have that somewhere in my studio, even if it didn't make any sounds!
