Track due tonight; need advice!

Post by PLacidBasilisk » Sun Jun 21, 2009 3:57 am

I'm currently mastering this granular/experimental track that I'm submitting to a compilation and have found myself without the use of my monitors. Any opinions on how everything is sounding and whether the levels seem alright would be appreciated so I can make some final adjustments before submitting!

Track is called "Broken Arabesque" - it's the first on the list at http://www.myspace.com/metafauna

Cheers!

Depends a bit if you want those louder noises to have an irritating effect or if they should sound smooth.

If smooth, it might help to cut HF with a peak filter and take a wide high shelf to giv a bit highs back.

Here´s a sreenshot of how I would EQ it:

and I would also raise the volume a bit ...

Difficult to tell on myspace tbh because the compression pulls out so much of the frequency content.

Yeah my bad for posting it on Myspace. Volume definitely needed raising and I also made some EQ tweaks as suggested Pathos, sounds a whole lot better. In general though I wanted some of those high peaks to be a little bit annoying, not so much as to make the experience totally unenjoyable though.
