2 General Questions About Ableton 8

Post by soupking » Mon Jun 22, 2009 10:27 pm

1) This one might not be about 8, but what's with the Input Sampling Rate? Sometimes 96k is available and sometimes not. Some say that they can get 192 sample conversion to register in Ableton. How? I haven't seen it. What is dependent on Ableton allowing a certain sampling rate?

2) Exporting - Does the 8 version have some kind of OMF output or some method of exporting tracks so they can be understood by other software? I use Ableton and really dig it, but the mixer I hire may not comply.

I've thought about upgrading, but figuring out these features is rather critical.

Thanks for any feedback. :D

1 - that's your sound card playing with you, what is it? I get 192kHz sampling with mine (Edirol UA101.)

2 - Live renders to .wav or .aif.

1 - Sorry, I forgot to mention that I'm using an Apogee Mini-Me. The conversion is done externally so I don't know why the sound card would be an issue.

2 - So only Mono/Stereo? There's no way to export the tracks for somebody else to use in another program?

No there's a function to export all tracks as rendered audio
