I have been using Live for a while, but this is one of those areas where it still hasn't clicked for me, so any suggestions would be much appreciated.
In Logic, you load up a bunch of bounced session files on the 1, they line up perfectly, the parts match, and your song is ready for continued work.
In Live, I load up a bunch of session files (say for a remix) and everything gets warped at different tempos and nothing is properly synced on first pass. You would think there would be some sort of batch import at 148 bpm, but there isn't right?
I turn off the warping on the tracks and the stems still don't sync properly.
I warp straight from bar 1 at 148bpm for each track. They still don't sync.
At this point I am guessing there is just a glaring hole in my live knowledge and wondering if someone could suggest an approach for importing stems to audio tracks and quickly / easily getting them sync'd (assuming they were sync'd properly when originally bounced).
Thanks in advance.

Importing Bounced Session Files/Stems so they Sync Properly
Re: Importing Bounced Session Files/Stems so they Sync Properly
warp is what keeps them in sync.
warp straight at 148 doesn't work because the original bpms aren't at 148.
take a step back and look at warping, what's going on? you're telling the computer where the 1 2 3 4... are for each song so Live can play the 1 2 3 4 at the same time for each song.
IMO you need to rethink how warp works I think you're looking at it wrong. but you get the basic workflow.

Re: Importing Bounced Session Files/Stems so they Sync Properly
ok.
so i gather there is no 'global import' option that sets the bpm of tracks for you on import. i guess that was my implied question was whether there was a way to avoid warping all the stems from the project. (i would think this has been a requested feature for remixers?)
I opted to just work within logic w/ live as a slave to avoid the above warping of all the tracks, but you are right I definitely haven't delved into understanding the distinctions of the different warping approaches. I was under the impression that 'warp straight' set the warp markers rigidly of the audio to the tempo you defined. Maybe that was my mistake and this is a different warp setting I am thinking of? I will go back and look at the other options.
thanks.

freeze things in the original session. that will lock them all at a single tempo

cheers, that is useful tip ... that must be why some of the bounced audio is showing up at the right tempo while others are not.freeze things in the original session. that will lock them all at a single tempo
