Statuc recording

Post by trumphodge » Fri Jul 03, 2009 11:32 am

I am doing a new setup of Live 7LE (using my new HP Pavillion laptop, Audiofire 4 interface) and getting recordings with lots of "static."

I have a desktop setup of Live LE and MAudio box elsewhere--so have some experience but not a deep knowledge of how digital audio recording really works.

I experimented with disabling wireless, doing various Windows alterations for performance--but it hasn't made any difference.

I suspect this is an easy fix--but I'm stumped. Things are complicated by only being able to listen with the MME soundcard, while recording is done with the ASIO interface.

I'd appreciate any suggestions--I'm only recording accompaniment from a digital piano and voices via mic--nothing high-test.

Hi Patricia,

I am not sure I fully understand:
Things are complicated by only being able to listen with the MME soundcard, while recording is done with the ASIO interface.
In general, you should just use one interface, make sure the latest ASIO driver is installed (MME/Direct X comes with too much latency for audio production). You can download it from here:

If the problem should persist thereafter, please contact [email protected] with your log.txt attached as described here:
