I am doing a new setup of Live 7LE (using my new HP Pavillion laptop, Audiofire 4 interface) and getting recordings with lots of "static."
I have a desktop setup of Live LE and MAudio box elsewhere--so have some experience but not a deep knowledge of how digital audio recording really works.
I experimented with disabling wireless, doing various Windows alterations for performance--but it hasn't made any difference.
I suspect this is an easy fix--but I'm stumped. Things are complicated by only being able to listen with the MME soundcard, while recording is done with the ASIO interface.
I'd appreciate any suggestions--I'm only recording accompaniment from a digital piano and voices via mic--nothing high-test.

In general, you should just use one interface, make sure the latest ASIO driver is installed (MME/Direct X comes with too much latency for audio production). You can download it from here:Things are complicated by only being able to listen with the MME soundcard, while recording is done with the ASIO interface.
