BIOGRAPHY:
Born in 1977 in the north of France, Tyler Smith discovered acid wave at the end of the 80's. Seduced by electronic music, he turned to the German melodic trance productions of the labels Eye-Q, Platipus or Superstition. In the late 90's, he started DJ'ing and performed at a few parties near his home. Beginning in the year 2000, he got into a more underground based techno mainly influenced by the sounds of Detroit. At the same time, he started producing his own sounds and quickly created his own web page (Alphaground) to share his first tracks.

In 2004, he invested time into working with various radios as a DJ. In 2006, he created (with Erell Ranson and Pedro Cali) the 'Interstate 94' show on Livesets webradio (Netherlands / http://www.livesets.com), dedicated to the sound of Detroit, which was quickly supplemented by B-side show directed to offbeat and industrial techno. Tyler's now managing different shows playing Detroit and Birmingham tunes on Livesets, Emergence FM (Limoges/France) and Techno.fm (Montreal / http://www.techno.fm).

In 2006, resulting from his collaboration with Bionic a vinyl release was born entitled 'Germanium' (Audiocrash rec.). Signing initially a few EP's with Detroit sonorities, Tyler directed himself then gradually towards a darker, harder and more industrial sound with his project 'Black Smith Craft,' of which few pieces have already been signed on several labels (Pohjola, Ante-rasa and Limetree records).
