Ive been trying to focus on getting my productions to sound as professional as possible so I've been working a lot with EQ.
Im trying to keep sounds in their own part of the spectrum as much as possible, I was wondering if when I have just a kick drum and a bassline going together but im using an auto – filter on the bassline will this interfere with me being able to EQ the bassline properly?
EQ Question
Re: EQ Question
no it shouldnt but whats the point of using the auto filter when you are gonna EQ it anyway?twistandshout wrote:Ive been trying to focus on getting my productions to sound as professional as possible so I've been working a lot with EQ.

Re: EQ Question
you cant sidechain the eq 8 and also you can use auto filter as a filter envelope, oh yeah, filter cuts frequencies, eq8 can just nudge certain ones aroundionic wrote:no it shouldnt but whats the point of using the auto filter when you are gonna EQ it anyway?twistandshout wrote:Ive been trying to focus on getting my productions to sound as professional as possible so I've been working a lot with EQ.

all i can say is there is no correct way to eq things, that said, you cant eq the bassline improperly
you can make it sound ways you dont want it to sound, but will it be wrong, no, just work with it till it sounds the way you want it to
oh yeah, here is a fun combo for basslines autofilter/compressor combo sidechain the both of them to the kick drum and bam you can make your self some sick wobbly pulsing basslines
