korg nanopad broken?

Post by Rygo » Tue Jul 14, 2009 8:15 pm

Hi all,

I bought myself a korg nanopad recently, have a bit of trouble with it -
Obviously in a basic set-up each pad triggers a single midi note, but both pad 10 and 11 trigger 2 notes. (pad 10 triggers notes assigned to both pad 10 & 11, and so does pad 11)

I've checked in the Kontrol Editor, the pads are set up just like the others with only 1 note assigned. Also tried restoring the device to factory settings, but that didn't stop the problem. (Nor did plugging the device into a different usb slot).

I've reproduced the issue in programs other than live too... do you think the nanopad is broke? :(

If anyone has any suggestions as to things I could try, or may have missed, that'd be great!

(Apologies if this has been asked before, I did a quick forum & google search but couldn't find anything specifically related!)

+ 1

If that isn't a stretch... Swapping it out is probably faster than troubleshooting it. At least if you do and its still broke you can scratch that giant ? off the list.

I had one that went wonky on me ... pad 6 would either double-trigger or wouldn't trigger at all; very erratic.
I contacted the place it was purchased to have it replaced (with restocking fee because of the time it took to break)

Actually bought it through Amazon.co.uk, but the supplier is absolutemusic. They sent out the order next day courier (free) when I ordered it (along with some other stuff) the first time too, using the same courier (DPD uk) for pick-up-n-swap this time I would imagine.

Rather impressed with the service, especially as I only emailed them about the fault last night, they called me this afternoon to sort it out. :)
