Best CDs for Loop Library

Post by dfusion » Sun Aug 22, 2004 9:14 am

In the midst of making my own loops, I know there has to be some good libraries out there for all-around bass, drums, things that just sit well in the mix and can be helpful in rounding out a track.

For example, when I've used Reason to compose a tune, I always grab some extra little background hi-hats from the Factory refill, or add a high-pass filter to a break beat on top of my own Redrum patterns from some of the refill collections out there (Impulse, Clubcharts, Percstuff, etc).

So any essentials that you guys know of would be great. I'm definitely open to suggestions.

Thanks,
-d

There's an amazing ethnic drum CD called "Abracatabla"... I want it badly!

A mate just pointed me to tuneuploops as he had just bought the cd and was really happy - although they were for garageband they are still aiff loops and can be used in live - some nice synth and drum loops - 500loops for £20 which is not to be sniffed at :D

This is primarily Indian percussion, esp. tabla loops by Talvin Singh.

I've owned this for a few years, and it is one of the best.

I always sift through those glossy UK mags for their bundled loop/software CD's. Some interesting stuff in there.

Yeah...me too! I just finished compiling a DVD with 4 gigs of samples, loops and kits today. Great stuff. Mostly from Computer Music but some Future Music too.

But I really want Smokers Delight... :)
