Open Live with clean template

Post by slirak » Wed Jul 22, 2009 11:17 am

I read the other day that you could press a modifier key when you create a new Live set, to create the set using the factory default template, but I just can't find that post now. Or the modifier key for that matter, though you'd think that'd be easy, there aren't that many...
Anyone care to enlighten me?
L8.1.4 Suite, MBP Unibody 2.4 GHZ 4GB OS X 10.6.4, Apogee One, Akai LPK25, Novation Nocturn, Korg Legacy w/MS20i controller, ComboSister, Moog Modular V, Oddity, Amplitube, T-Racks, CSR, Roland TD-12, guitars and basses and whatever...

i dont know about the modifier key. a workaround i know about: you could move the template.als from ~/Library/Preferences/Ableton/Live x.x.x/ to somewhere else then you will get a plain set.

making it in a shell is maybe just as fast as klicking your way through it

Found it!
Press Shift, then choose New Live Set in the File menu.
It was too simple for me to try at first I suppose...

Oh, don't thank me, it was mentioned by one of the abes in a post the other day. Pretty useful though, especially if you're troubleshooting!

BTW
I wonder if they ever call their office the Planet of the Abes? Or perhaps it's the Tower of Ableton... :P
