How to realise a Bus in Live 8 ??
Hi Folks,
how do you realise a bus ? I used Cubas in the past and i used a lot of Audio Buses to route different chanels to one bus ( maby for NY Compression etc) like on hardware mixing desks.
how do you realise this on Live 8 ?
I tryed some things out but i think ive wrong. I routed it also to a send but it´s a send not a bus ?
Hope you have some ideas for me.
Thanks,
CIT

There are a few ways to do it. It depends the result you expect.
First, you could create an Audio Track, name it BUS if u want, and set the output of the tracks you want to the BUS track instead of MASTER (default). Don't forget to set monitor of the BUS track to IN to hear what comes in.
Or you could select all the tracks you want to reunite and type CTRL+G (under PC) to create a group, which is, IMO, the best way (I mean the simplest), but maybe is it not what you want...
For NY compression, maybe it is easier to create an Audio Effect Rack. Create 2 chains. The first one is the dry one with no FX and the second one is the FX'd one. There you juste have to adjuste the volume of the 2 chains...
There it is.

Hm, so what's the difference between a 'bus' and a 'send' then.. i've been using sends to do the same thing..

You can use sends channels. Choose out to "sends only".
Or you can group tracks. That way you can easily apply the same effects to several tracks.

I didn't notice what you said about sends. I don't get it.
