ASI Files

Post by wes9 » Thu Aug 22, 2002 5:21 pm

New to Live here... Wondering why, after I load a sample in Live, it creates a duplicate file in the folder which it is stored with an ".ASI" attached. Not a big deal, though it's a little annoying for organization purposes.

Thanks for any info.

ASI

Hi Wes...To my understanding the asi file is a graphic clip overview ......similiar to Spark's graphic overview file that is produced when ever you load a audio file. No point in moving them around as a new one will be created once you load up a file...best left where they are.

Thanks Krzysztof. If I would move them I wonder if the file would be 'lost' or unseen when re-loading the song?
I guess as you said it's best not to mess with them- I just hope other Apps. like Logic, Peak, Reaktor, etc. don't 'see' these files, or it's going to be a lot more scrolling, clicking, and trying to find stuff.

Hey Wes

No problem-o with the Live ASI file and any of the other fine software you have mentioned, they just seem to work lickity-boo. If I can answer any questions for you, please don't hesitate to e-mail.
