midi from live4 to reason

Hi,

i am trying to send midi notes to the subtractor of reason 2.5 but somehow i cant get it done.

I created a midi track and defined MIDI TO: Reason / Subtractor, then i created a simple test track. Because i couldnt hear anything i created another audio track with Reason as IN (Channel 1/2). Now i hear my live played stuff, but the recorded track wont work.

The live played stuff can be heard because reason just listens to MIDI IN signals (the ones i am playing with my midi controller), but somehow live doesnt send my midi notes (the midi track) to reason .

Am i missing something here or does MIDI just dont work in this setup.

short correction. When playing via controller/keyboard, the midi signal is received by live and correctly broadcasted to reason. But the track still doesnt generate any midi notes, even i can see them on the track.

In the sequencer view, the track is a white box with black border, so it looks a little bit strange, but i guess thats the case when assigning or rewire slave to it.

So, i still have no idea whats going on.

this is how it works for me....

1. Open Live, Open Reason.

2. Create clip on a live midi channel.

3. Midi to REASON.... Subtractor (or whatever)

4. midi track MONITOR on AUTO

4. Create Audio track

5. Audio From REASON .... Mix 1 L (or whatever you got it pluged into)

6. Audio Track MONITOR "ON"

works fine.

Hi,

thanks for your reply. The only difference was that you turned the Monitor to "AUTO" in the midi track, this way it works. When turning this to "ON", like the audio track, the channel wont send any midi at all.

Seems like it a desired behavior. When turning this to "AUTO", the track gets also the correct color (or better the midi bar inside the track) in the sequencer.
