Welcome neighbor!

Come out to my gig on Thursday, it's free, there is free gin and $2 beers - say hi. Also, there should be a few other folks from the forum coming out as well, maybe we can work out how to identify eachother:

It's hard to not see music here in NYC. I would grab a copy of the Village Voice (comes out on Monday) they list the bigger venues and then sniff around the local scene.

My fave is Trouble & Bass - they are seeing a ton of success lately. All are great DJS and play a great mix of ElectroHouse, Dubstep, and whatever else they want. They have a gig on August 12th at the Annex in the LES.

As far as getting gigs - you can get gigs somewhat easily, getting gigs where you get paid and developing a following is the tough part.

Welcome to Brooklyn and hopefully see you on Thursday!

I used to love the annex, but lately the place is getting laaaammmee. I will attend the trouble and bass show. Hopefully it will be good.

Not sure of the set times other than FaltyDL is performing live at midnight. I will be there the whole night though. I

Two of us will be djing w/ Ableton, the other 3 on Serato.

Re: The Annex - I 100% agree. I wouldn't go there if not for Trouble & Bass. They destroyed it there last month.

The other places that have good lineups are Club Love, and Le Poisson Rouge - pretty much where the best "underground" djs perform when they are in town.

Cacti, where did you move here from?

sign up for the beyond booking mailing list. Bryan, DJ Spinoza, has really great taste and throws the best parties in ny.

the bunker and house n home are the best things happening in town.

avoid wolf and lamb unless you like tarnce and yacht rock.

no, i'm just kidding. Wolf and Lamb are *really* nice guys and throw *really* amazing parties. Top notch shit, yo.

also check out the bunker podcast for a collection of nice mixes and live sets. I like #20 the best.

I almost forgot! For electronic music that isn't only dance music, you should sign up at http://www.finediving.org/ for their mailing list. I promise you anything they put together will be great.
