Device chains
Device chains
Everyone uses ableton devices different. We also chain them different. One cool way I like, is to send my tracks thru "sends only". Rec. the track, compress and limit it. Then rec into another track. Erase the original track. Pull the indifferent utility device, and spread it wide until it has a soft, full sound(usually somewhere between 160-199, depending on what your working with). This will lower the sound, but you can adjust the gain of the device to compensate. Compress and limit again, then rec. into another track to keep my comp usage low. Then repeat it for all tracks that will be recorded. Compress and limit inside my master channel. when satisfied with everything, resample the entire track into a new track, sounds great!!!

Re: Who knows how to master to soft, sexy sounds?
I generaly just put some Barry White on, it's a matter of personal choice tho
Re: Who knows how to master to soft, sexy sounds?
sample your favourite porn, add a lowpass filter to get rid of the annoying high-pitched shrieks, then add a compressor to get everything sounding all sexy... you could also add a dynamic tube if it sounds too "modern"... to soften it up even more, you could always transpose the moans and grunts an octave or so down.... yeah, baby
Re: Who knows how to master to soft, sexy sounds?
I appreciate the generosity guys. But I used "soft, sexy" to describe a creamy, almost magical sounding masterpiece. If possible. I'm not sure if you guys were serious with the replies tho. But it's still funny.

Do you mean like (french band) Air?
Re: Who knows how to master to soft, sexy sounds?
sorry sir_dss, I'm not universal enough to know the french band sound. But if this is what comes to mind, then I wouldn't mind hearing more about it. More-so, if you know tricks to achieve such thick rich sounds.
