MIDI Issue

Post by JamieS » Sun Aug 29, 2004 6:07 pm

I've been using Live and love it but have been having a showstopping issue.

I use Live to sequence MIDI clips out to two external synths. However I've noticed that sporadicly extra MIDI notes will get sent to the synths. These notes are on MIDI channels that have nothing sequenced in Live and are often "Note On" commands that don't send a note end. This results in stray notes playing in my songs that do not end unless I hit the stop button in Live twice.

I've done some testing and discovered it's not my two synths as I did a MIDI out from the computer and straight back in so I could view the signal in MIDI-OX. I discovered that either Live is generating these extra notes, my MIDI adapter (Firewire Tascam Fw-1884) or the MIDI driver on the computer.

This is driving me crazy. Any thoughts?

I thought it was only me. I notice that sometimes after recording a clip there is along midi note insterted prior to my loop-start point and I wonder how it got there. It doesn't happen all the time, but I've definitely noticed notes appearing that I have not played.
Accidents are the portal to discovery!
