"Soft" playback in arrange window?

I've noticed that I'm starting to see a small very fast fade in applied to the start of audio files played in the arrange window and its really annoying... It sounds exactly the same as playing the sample back thru impulse with "Soft" turned on, and it's smudging over the initial transient of kick drums & things where i want them to be played back normally...

Is this an option that i can disable or is it a bug or am i doing something wrong? any help would be much appreciated!

Turns out that i had "Fade" turned on & that was causing the lack of transient... make sure when u drop kick drums or snappy snares that u turn "Fade" off so u get the sample it all its glory... maybe the abletons could allow us to turn of Fade being on by default in the preferences?
