Hey guys! Just bought Live 8 and its great. However, its not really useable and feels like its got more bugs than everything else. It just handles CPU load so bad.
Yesterday i started a new project. Loaded up 4 wavs on different tracks and then added an instance of Native Instruments Maschine as an AU. Now i get a cpu load that goes from 40 -> 100 -> 35 -> 65 -> 90 etc... just up and down. And yes, i know its supposed to be speedstepping, but hey. Theres no way to turn it off except if i use Coolbook which i CANT use since paypal cant process my card that HAS got money on it. Well, it seems like ive got a software that isnt useable from a default point of view. I love the software, but it feels like its unuseable when i cant load up anything in it before it starts to get down on its knees.... My setup is a Macbook Pro 2,4ghz with 4gb of ram. Right now the money seem to be a pretty f***n bad investment. Anyone know what to do? The trial of coolbook didnt solve anything btw. As far as i know, i have the latest drivers etc.
Im just frickin pissed off when i can run reason with a 128 audio buffer, and not even with over 2000 in the buffer in live, its useable....
Btw.. its version 8.04 of live!

tune up your computer. there are people that use Macs with less horsepower than that.
a good workman doesn't blame his tools, especially after he's dumped that much money into them.
look at the Live 8 performance test thread in the general section and see how people with similar configs are doing.

I'm having the same problem with Live 8.1 on MacBook Pro, Even with a 5 audio clips + efx or one Vst alone make cpu jump to 100% !
I try everything, cleaning, re-install osx but nada
Any saver around ?!
