Interstellar Feller Man - Final Version - Electropop

Post by vlantis » Sat Aug 29, 2009 9:23 am

Here's the final version from my upcoming "Super Battlestation Robot" EP. Heavily influenced by Japanese electropop. The EP will feature a large collection of guest vocalists. Due out sometime in September (If I get the vocals in time!).

My posts seems to be getting less attention lately. Maybe it's the electropop tag!

Very cool track vlantis! I think the cartoon vox may be too much in spots... sometimes I liked it, sometimes I thought it was a bit over the top. I'd like to hear guitar in this as well, but it has a nice early 80s vibe as is.

Thanks so much for the feedback! Yeah, I think the vocals may be a bit much myself, but there's going to be such a large variety of vocals on the final EP, I let it slide. I originally wanted to autotune the whole thing, because I love the autotune sound when used in electropop (they use it a lot out here in Japan), but it has SUCH a bad rap in the States right now, I couldn't bring myself to do it. (well, it IS autotuned, but not in the traditional sense).

Liked it almost, LOL. I'd like to hear it without the annoying robot voice. What did you use for the voice effect?

Thanks for the replies! I used Harmony Engine which isn't very compatible with Ableton, but with some tricks, I got it to do what I needed.

I'm really glad your liking them! (A bit more than my new one, eh?) Making big tracks is sort of an oldie. All the vocals yo hear are by me, except for that one. He's also doing a song for my new one. Follow the download links to get more! My project for the rest of this year is to remaster all my old tracks (learned a bit since then).

Great fun. And I actually like the vocal treatment. Suited the style.

Thanks for all the nice comments! Glad most people don't absolutely HATE the vocals. It says it's the final mix, but that's a lie. I'm still learning how to master tracks.
