Why does angry music make me so happy? (and a lot of happy music annoys me

Old blues always seems to simmer with a subdued anger, to me at least. This song ain't in your face roar, but I think it's raw: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAKfy2W70QgTone Deft wrote:they had angry music it's just not as extreme as today's music.
prior to that I'd guess it was jazz music that was the equivalent.
Ska doesn't depress me but I'm also not a fan. I typically don't like music that causes the physical reaction of just jumping up and down or happy moshing. Throw most Techno, Donk, and Hard Trance in there as well. Can't stand Sublime and I'm sure I'll get a lot of haters for that one.hurlingdervish wrote:happy music makes me depressed
except for ska. if ska doesn't make you happy you should kill yourself.
So do you think those were happier times or people were just more repressed? The music was more like "I'm very disappointed" than "I'm fucking pissed off!"Tone Deft wrote:they had angry music it's just not as extreme as today's music.
Cream, Zeppelin, Hendrix, the Who...
prior to that Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, prior to that I'd guess it was jazz music that was the equivalent.
