5/4 7/8 and so...

Post by LUAS » Wed Sep 16, 2009 6:53 pm

Some of my songs uses irregular signature such as alternate 3/4; 3/4; 4/4.
I've tried to automate the execution of the clips but when one ends the other began in the middle of the next.
What I did wrong?

Quantization? Legato Mode?
Anyway, changing time signature leads me to strange things, too.

Well... I'm with the L8 just 2 months ago... and I'm trying all those things. I don't understand clearly the Legato Mode concept.
I'll try and i'll told you if it works for me.

I loved your work!!!

Thanks

Yes... I'll try this too.
But the problem is when are odd time signature like 5/8 or 7/8.
I'm trying to understand the Legato Mode and qunatization.
I had the Live6 Lite and I've upgraded to Live8 just yesterday

So I'm kinda "walking on eggs"...

in legato mode , the next clip trigger will start off where the other one left
if you're quantize for triggering clips is 1/4th note and you pressed the next clip a bit after the 4th beat:
legato mode - the next clip will start at the 5th beat
regular mode - the next clip will start at the 1st beat

both with the same timing

as for non-symmetrical rhythms, i'd go with longjohns suggestion.

Cheers
