Being a snitch

Post by daffy » Mon Sep 21, 2009 2:01 pm

Hey...I'm real frustrated...I save up and buy "all" software to have a clear mind...I know some people that just rip it off from the net...where can i snitch on these people to get them into trouble? I found sites for movie piracy, but nothing in software.

You're already a dead man!

Even funnier is that.. in an attempt to get the site names so you can actually go and get pirate software to use (you didn't seriously think we'd fall for the 'I buy all my software crap' did you?), you've actually put a 'snitch' contract out on yourself!

I suggested that one of my 'contempories' (known for using heaps of pirate stuff) had to put up a kit list on his new CD.

The formulae for this genius is the inherrent stupidity associated by those that have few morals and use snide vst's and sample packs (my contempory included).

I'll give it a couple of months and if nothing happens send his CD to the relevent parties (as a demo of course, - as could be useful for marketing too  )

On the other hand, I know an un-employed lad in my street that makes hip hop in his bedroom that's more than likely using moody binary. My feelings are that he's better off making beats than sniffing petrol in the park...

Op's totaly fishing though! muppet.

does feel somehow right to me as well, even it still does not justify stealing.

No, it simply justifies not grassing someone up.

if i understand the expression correctly, then yes totally.

to me that is the absolute worst character ever, ever, ever! i really can't think of anything worse and evil then a snitch.

dictatorships are built one those, for example.

Really. So are you saying that anyone who sees a crime like discrimination or sexual harassment in a workplace should also not snitch on those who perpetrate such crimes?

Uh, ACID, you just snitched on you (and possibly your brother)

Oh, well, some never learn.

From what it sounds like... you (the OP) are just trying to web search for sites dealing in illicit software and then report (snitch) back to "a" authority.

Well... the web's a free place man. So mantras like "Snitches burn in ditches" don't really apply. People make it available, other people snitch, sites get taken down and then another one gets put right back up.

Maybe companies need your help to keep the cost of piracy down so we abelton users don't have to pay as much for next years upgrade because ACID downloaded the illegal copy. Then again maybe ACID just needs encouragement to do the right thing and upon his realization that if he ever makes a commercial hit, and that he can actually collect on it without getting sued, maybe he'll then pass on the encouragement to the next ACID wannabe.

And if that don't work... then fuck it. At least we (you) tried.
