How to Program a FOOT CONTROLLER

I just picked up an NEW Tech21 MIDI MOOSE foot controller that I wanted to use with Ableton, but whenever I try to map an Ableton control to any of the buttons, they all come up as "pitchbend" as if each button is sending the exact same midi message. Nothing happens when I press a button I mapped either, despite Ableton still seeing the activity and allowing it to be mapped.

Is there anyway I can get this controller to work with Ableton at all? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

OS X 10.5.8
Ableton 8.0.5
EX-MU keyboard - USB
APC40 - USB
M-Audio Firewire 1814 - Firewire400
Tech21 MIDI MOOSE - MIDI into Firewire 1814

Did you sort this problem? I'm currently looking in to getting a MIDI foot controller and would like to know how you got on with this.

I doubt he'll be back but he needs to re-programme his foot controller to send midi note messages.

I have the same problem with an ENGL Z12-Controller. I got recommended to use midi-ox to change the signal into midi CC. But I don't really get the programm. Anyone who can help me out and explain how to configure it? Or suggestions for other, easier programs?

Hi Jetlag,
This is a old post but like to react anyway;
I had the same problem. I also wanted to control Ableton with a ENGL Z12 controller.
I wrote a small program that converts the midi data of the z12 to a midi note.
Nothing more nothing less, works great for me.

Only thing you need is a virtual midi port. For this I used LoopMidi http://www.tobias-erichsen.de/software/loopmidi.html
