Max For Live and Ableton Launch Pad Edition

Post by Bynar » Fri Oct 02, 2009 8:05 pm

I have been without my Ableton license for almost a year now. I do most of my audio production in Max/Msp and Logic. However, after initial doubts, I think I might be interested in the launch pad edition of the software if it could support Max for Live. Ideally I only want to use Live for live performance with audio files and some light effects processing. Nowhere on the comparison chart did it state if max for live will work with with this edition of the software. On the same note, I've been waiting on the official price announcement for Max for LIve before I go out and buy a new Ableton license. I think or hope that Max 5 owners will get some type of discount in the form of a package? At any rate, maybe getting this new controller might be the way to go if I don't plan on using Live as a full fledged DAW and it can allow me to use M4L.

Anyone know? I can't find info on this anywhere. Maybe I should just wait for M4L and see what kind of discount Max users will get for Ableton.

I really doubt Max will work on the Lite Version though I admit I dont know for sure.

The Lite editions of Ableton truly suck compared to the full version. I got the Motu, the Novation, the M- Audio, and I even got the APC one and they are all the same

8 Tracks, 4 Scene and you cant edit any of the Drum Racks. they give you eight macro and you dont even get to choose what they do. Its All preset.

I think they are for people to use for the lessons and then buy the full version.

You do get a discount on the full version. That's a plus.
