clip not selected when triggered via midi

Turn 'select on launch' on in the prefs, trigger via midi to launch a clip, the clip plays alright, but is not 'selected', unlike when a clip is launched via mouse. This is especially a problem when recording loops in realtime and you want to delete the recently recorded clip.

Was quite disappointed to see the problem persists in 4.0.3. To top that off, even the 'exclusive arm' mode doesn't work when arming via midi. I hope this is all an oversight rather than some fundamental design flaw, like tying these global prefs to the 'means' by which a clip is selected or a track is armed. The fact that these problems have been echoed by others for a while makes me concerned.

Abletonians: any chance of a fix sometime soon? Increasingly I get the feeling that using Live as a live instrument was/is an afterthought.
