i've been trying to do the same with apc40
turns out that it's only possible with third-party instruments like effectrix or lucifer, which accept input note on/off as effect triggers.
however, i used to have an m-audio trigger finger and by using its software editor and changing the pad behaviour it was possible do these touch style effects with live's native devices.
so check your software/manual, if there isn't any then you're doomed like me.

Could you maybe use the LPD8 editor and change the pads from 'toggle' to 'momentary'?

cheers guys, I tried this but on momentary one hit turns on one hit turns off - when on toggle you have to hit twice for, twice for off??Guff Tong wrote:Could you maybe use the LPD8 editor and change the pads from 'toggle' to 'momentary'?
they make sense in behaviour but and extra hit???

I thought that after I'd posted!!
Think you may have change the way the actual live device button reacts.
(At work right now so can't test this)
I know you can adjust certain aspect of any midi mapped control in the map window, (max-min for instance) maybe this includes toggle/momentary also?

You probably need to assign a CC rather than a note.

what he says! you need change the type of the message that your controller sends out. it needs to be CC, then you it acts "momentary".
