ahhh... be real it's not a surprise, they are one of the worst f-kers, many musicians are usually losers and skint all the time... i just need to look at berlin...

go find the address and break brutally every single bone in him... burn his hands or something on top of it, a hairspray can makes a good flamethrower to burn the f-kers hands...

Now you giving me ideas with the hairspray... I don't like violence, but in some cases (like this one) I'm sure I can get over my dislike and utilise the 'Al Capone' in me!!!

I really hope you get this resolved, mate.

Hey! Guys sorry to butt in on this thread but since it looks like you guys knew something about MIDI guitars also, so yeah, I'm trying buy a MIDI guitar. I wanna use it mainly with Reason coz I created a lot of guitar patches already in there and I'm sick of drawing automations and what not in Reason to make it sound not so MIDI-ish. I'm stuck between the Yamaha EZ-AG and the Casio DG-20. The Yamaha really suits my taste but you can't bend notes since it doesn't have strings on it to bend and with the Casio DG-20, it does have strings, but I'm not sure if you could really bend strings on this one? I wanna try it but it seems I can't see it on our local Guitar Center that's why I'm just gonna ask it here.

i do see the best in people as well, but life teaches me a lot... and i love artists... i am one myself... but there are unfortunately many shady ones around, cause they are usually short on money...

and in my case, no one ever is getting away, even just trying to F around with me... no one!, even if he would give me back the money or the guitar as agreed... he would receive a lesson for live and his children... and not a faint hearted one...

Yes it was on ebay.. As a 'buy it now or make an offer' item. i made an offer, which was rejected.. Then he sent me a mail (through ebay) saying how much he would accept.. I replied saying ok, and asked him to send me a Paypal money request.. Which hw did.. but.. (here comes the 'tricky' bit) the request he sent was from Paypal directly.. ie not through ebay... I sent the money.. duh.. at first he said he was working 12hrs aday and did'nt have time to send it.. I was patient and said ok, but send it asap.. A week passed.. nothing.. i sent another mail (through ebay) asking wtf? he replied saying that he would refund my money if I did'nt want to wait.. I told him yes refund my money... He asked me for a bank account number he could send it to, as he had a 'problem' with his Paypal acc.. I gave him an unused account details of an account in my wifes name.... NOTHING!
I have sent him a couple of mails, getting increasingly threatening.. still nothing...

That's the oldest ebay scam trick in the book. However, at least you didn't wire the money directly or anything...

The £500 PayPal guarantee is valid when done through eBay, but i'm not sure if it's valid for general PayPal transactions. Generally buyers receive better treatment in contentious scenarios than sellers (at least when done through ebay), so that might give you some hope. There seem to be more problems with PayPal these days - i'm not sure if it's because the service is getting worse, or because there are more people using it. Good luck anyway.

The main if not only advantage of Paypal is that "security"- you should get refund from them, at least that is what Ebay say. I dont use it because anyway Ebay interest in solving any problems is minimal, stolen, fake whatever, they get their cut and that is all Ebay is really interested. It is only when Ebay gets pressure from some big companies they behave. Buying, selling on Ebay you are on your own, read between the lines, write seller first, kick out suspicious buyers from the list etc. Despite all that it happened to me too recently.
Couldn't get money back from seller , the seller was excusing, busy, this and that, playing me for 6 weeks. Wasted lots of time writing EBay-mostly getting same auto respond. What really worked, almost instantly was reporting to the police, in 24 hours the money was on my account. Next time will do it right away.
Edit:
Just read your story, honestly, buy in shops, forget internet, including Ebay it is not for you sorry to say that but you are too innocent. Giving away your account number, he probably has your address as well. That is enough to open new accounts , take stuff on credit etc,etc missusing your identity, you better GO TO THE POLICE RIGHT NOW!!! The internet crime specialists will tell you all what you have to do to prevent more damages. Hopefully he is not pro criminal with fake Facebook etc, since then the worst could be coming yet, worse then the value of that midi gear.

If you people who works for a bank/building society you might be able to get his address if he has an account with them.
