Im sorry but its true. is a fact.

its FASTER,more intuitive and more creative to have this visual referece like this:

Image

please add one.

the piano roll would be more FAST to use, if using :

Left mouse button to move and drag
right mouse button to delete

and if you dont want to do it because of the macs just having one button, that was the past theres the mighty mouse.

so another option would be to still use just one tool but using left mouse button + shift to delete , and left mouse button to move and drag.

Ableton live Rocks ! this things of the piano roll suck

+1 for the editing controls

Well, I don't know what you mean by the visual grid thing (and this step sequencer shot) :?:, but the piano roll editing is really painful in Ableton Live.
You always need the computer keyboard or you have to switch the paint mode or have to go in the context menu to delete an event. There should really be a fast universal mode where you can add/move/resize/delete events by just using the full capabilities of a two-button mouse while the context menu can be opened using another way in that mode (ideally configurable by the user, e.g. both mouse buttons).

And Apple's 'Mighty Mouse' has also plenty of buttons (or sensors) for ages... so where's the problem with this very intuitive solution for all platforms?

To get a step sequencer like that you can use the Drum Rack.

To add and remove notes without going into edit mode: just double click.
