MPD18 not changing notes when in the drum rack

Hello,

I have recently picked up a MPD18 and I've noticed that it is not adjusting the pads to correspond with the drum rack selections. Has anyone else run into this issue and/or know how I can solve this problem?

did you chose mpd 18 or mpd 24 in your control surface settings? of ableton? and use pad bank A

I have bank A selected.
It is currenlt set to MPD18. (I will try MPD24 and see if it helps.

I did run their MPD18 Edit program but it did not give me the option to set the MIDI channel even though it claims it should be able to in the documentaion. (note: I was thinking that seprating the LPK24 and the MPD18 from the same channel may help solve this issue).
While in the MPD18 Edit app I noticed you can change the "Note Display Type" from C# to Numb 61 - Not sure if that would help or not as well.

One other though - I was going to turn of the intnral MIDI clock and set it to external.
Is this a good or bad idea... or, does it not matter?

(I will try MPD24 and see if it helps.

I tried putting it on MPD24, but it did not change anything.
Would the "sync" or "remote" buttons help in this case?
Currenlty I do have the "Track" button set to on for the MPD18.

hm "note display type" is just another display kind of the editor

sync got no matter just if you want sync ableton with the internal midi clock of the mpd18 so only "track" and "remote" the mpd18
and try to chose the preset 1 of pad1 the chromatic one and midi channel 1 if this not helping i got no idea anymore :p
