envelopes dont stick

1. i record some audio into live.

2. i click the edit button, which opens the audio in sond forge. i edit it, save it and close.

3. i move back to live where it rewrites the .asd file.

4. i sometimes move the audio to a different track, sometimes not.

5. i fix the timing on the sample by dbl clicking on the markers in the sample view window and move them around.

PROBLEM:
if i open another program, alt-tab to aim or ie or something, and then come back to live, the timing editing i did is gone. sometimes even when i record another sample, repeating the process, previous samples will lose the editing i did.

how do i make live understand that im not continuing to edit the files in an external app?
