Hi. The Step sequencer is super fun. Couple things I'm having difficulty with though...
1. How does one delete midi notes that are in the sequencer? This isn't intuitive and I still can't figure it out.
2. I'm also confused how to move up and down the piano roll/sequence editor without clicking and dragging/moving a note. After using the down arrow to move the pitch down of a sequence, all the notes were WAY down below..and I had no way of getting to them without creating a new note and dragging it down.

Re: Step Sequencer
Just set the velocity to 0. You can also command (ctrl if you're on windows) + double click to set the velocity to 0emergencyofstate wrote:Hi. The Step sequencer is super fun. Couple things I'm having difficulty with though...

It works like live's MIDI clip editor:2. I'm also confused how to move up and down the piano roll/sequence editor without clicking and dragging/moving a note. - double click in the MIDI keyboard zone to the left to zoom out (so every notes fit in the display area)
- mouse click/drag up and down to change the zoom offset
- mouse click/drag right and left to zoom in/out

Re: Step Sequencer
Thanks. that helped.
But still not quite sold.
Seems like it could work a little more like Live's midi editor. For instance, toggle command+b for the pencil to draw midi notes and toggle back to move, copy, delete..
Also, in Live's midi editor and loop editor the resize/zoom tool is always in the title bar area and these controls are now offset 90º on the left. This is why i completely missed them initially. Anyway I can get over these things.
But it does seem a little odd to not be able to remove notes in the sequence..only set them to zero velocity.

Re: Step Sequencer
the step sequencer is a great example of why patches should be able to escape clip view. we've whined that Sampler, Analog, Operator etc should be able to escape clip view now there's a piano roll crunched into Clip View.

been going through patches all day, finally got to the step sequencer. it's usable-ish. I really like the random setting. looks like a start for better things, edit, study, tweak.
edit the patch and publish it.emergencyofstate wrote:But it does seem a little odd to not be able to remove notes in the sequence..only set them to zero velocity.
